jan 1, 1968 - Polytechnics and University innovations
Description:
The Robbins Report in 1963 showed that the UK was falling behind France and Germany in innovations of science, going against Wilson's 'White Heat of Technology'. Therefore, a series of universities were put in place with the commitment of teaching science rather than art-related subjects. They also introduced Polytechnics which would replace Collages of Technology with a focus towards teaching rather than research.
By 1968, 30 polytechnics and 58 universities had been created.
