aug 20, 1794 - Battle of Fallen Timbers
Description:
The Battle of Fallen Timbers, fought in 1794 near present-day Toledo, Ohio, was the culminating conflict of the Northwest Indian War between American troops led by General Anthony Wayne and a confederation of Native American tribes allied with the British. The American victory at this battle led directly to the Treaty of Greenville in 1795, which opened up much of present-day Ohio to white settlement and significantly reduced Native American resistance in the Northwest Territory.
