Roughly around 295 BC, King Ptolemy I Soter took advantage of Demetrius's extensive knowledge and tasked him with founding the library at the Mouseion.
This is significant as the Great Library of Alexandria was one of the largest and momentous libraries of the ancient world. As many as 700 000 scrolls filled its shelves.
