Description:
The years during and after WWI were marked by a large number of race riots of white Americans joining mobs to attack mostly African American people and/or communities. The Red Summer of 1919 is one to point out, as there were over 40 riots in a short period of time in several different cities of the US. It is important to note that these massacres occurred not only in the South but across the whole country.
