Following the massacre at the Cave of the Patriarchs, Israel divides the city of Hebron into H1, which remains under PA control, and H2, which is controlled by the IDF. Palestinians in H2 face discriminatory laws, such as the inability to enter and leave the area freely. They face checkpoints which can take hours to pass, and facial recognition software is used to identify them without consent.
