Johnny Depp looks suave in white blazer and black trousers as he receives tribute from French actress Catherine Deneuve at the Deauville Film Festival in France

He has travelled to Europe to promote his latest hotly-anticipated film, Waiting For The Barbarians.

And Johnny Depp looked every inch the A-lister as he received a tribute from French actress Catherine Deneuve during the 45th Deauville American Film Festival in France on Sunday.

The actor, 56, cut a suave figure in a sharply tailored white blazer and a matching shirt, along with a black waistcoat.

Also wearing black trousers and a matching bow tie, Johnny completed his look for the evening with a pair of aviator shades and diamond earrings.

The Oscar nominee took to the stage alongside Catherine where he was presented with a silver plaque with the festival's name on it.

Catherine, 75, looked every inch the film star in a silver short sleeved jacket with black trimming around the collar.

She also wore a black top and matching trousers and styled her blonde locks into loose waves for the event.

According to 20 Minutes, after receiving his tribute from the iconic French star, Johnny said: 'Thank you for everything, I'm very touched.'

'It's crazy to me that my daughter Lily-Rose is also at a festival presenting one of her films [The King at the Venice Film Festival].

'I would like to thank her too as well as my son Jack and their wonderful mother, Vanessa Paradis.'

It comes after Johnny attended the photocall for Waiting For The Barbarians at festival earlier in the day after attending the Venice Film Festival on Friday.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star wore a blue suit with black big-collared shirt as he strolled through the festival, surrounded by bodyguards before joining co-stars including Mark Rylance.

The Edward Scissorhands star looked handsome as he teased a glimpse of his toned chest in an black unbuttoned shirt, teamed with a shimmering suit jacket.

This was paired with matching trousers and think-soled dress shoes. Adding a final stylish touch, the film icon donned a matching pair of azure aviator sunglasses for his starry ensemble.

Waiting For The Barbarians, based on the novel of the same name by Nobel Prize-winning author J. M. Coetzee, is a political allegory that takes place in the unnamed colonial outpost of a large empire, following a magistrate who begins to question where his loyalties truly lie.

Johnny plays a sinister character named Colonel Joll in the film.

Barbarians also stars Robert Pattinson and Mark Rylance, an actor who has enjoyed success in the theater world and now also in Hollywood, having won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for 2016's Bridge Of Spies.

Mark was also at both the Deauville and Venice film festivals, pictured happily embracing his co-star Depp.

He did his best impression of an American tourist, donning sandals and white shorts with a beige bomber jacket and a straw beach hat.

On Friday, Johnny attended a star-studded dinner held in his honour during the 76th Venice Film Festival with his fellow thespians.
