jan 9, 1957 - Homosexuals Banned from Military
Description:
A Navy report by the Secretary of State concluded that there is no evidence that "homosexuals cannot acceptably serve in the military" or that they are security risks. This report is considered a setback in LGBT rights and shows that people of that identity were strongly discriminated against. It helped inspire people to fight for their rights. The report is suppressed until 1967.
