Goal: Reduce federal deficitHow: Cut federal salaries and benefits to veterans
The veterans were furious and, again, gathered to demonstrate in DC. Eleanor Roosevelt went to hear their grievances and hand out food. She pushed many to seek work in the CCC, and many did.
This act was ineffective b/c of the mass increase in spending in other areas. FDR restored the salaries and benefits by Oct 1934.
