aug 20, 1672 - 1672 - Rampjaar Lynching

Description:

The De Witt brothers had founded themselves leading the First Stadtholderless Period, attacked by the French, English, Spanish and HRE all at the same time.

They had largely created the Dutch Golden Age, with the help of the Republican liberal ideas of Peter De La Court.

When multiple warring factions invaded Netherlands, and the country fell apart, there came the return of the House of Nassau. William III of Orange led the revolt, and a crown cannibalised the brothers after lynching them.
