Vaughan Gething is almost certain to be endorsed in the Welsh Parliament as the next first minister on Wednesday.

He succeeds Mark Drakeford, who bowed out with an emotional speech on Tuesday after five years at the helm.

Mr Gething narrowly won the Welsh Labour leadership election but there have been questions about financial donations to his campaign.

Members of the Senedd (MS) are due to nominate the new first minister on Wednesday afternoon.

If Mr Gething, 50, is chosen, his name will go to the King for approval.
