Description:
The Haganah and the Jewish Agency had been smuggling Jews into Palestine. One of these smuggling ships, the SS Exodus, was intercepted by the British Royal Navy and sent back to Europe. It was full of Holocaust survivors.
As a result, international opinion was:
- turned against the British
- supportive of Zionism
