jan 1, 890 BC - Battle of Zephath
Description:
The Battle of Zephath, recorded in 2 Chronicles 14:9–15, took place during King Asa's reign in Judah, around 911-870 BCE. It occurred in the Valley of Zephath near Maresha, Israel, where the army of Judah, led by King Asa, faced off against the combined forces of the Kushites and ancient Egyptians under Zerah the Cushite. The Judahite warriors emerged victorious, attributed to divine intervention by the Chronicler. Asa's forces seized significant spoils of war and pursued the enemy to Gerar, achieving peace between Judah and Egypt until later conflicts arose during Josiah's reign.
