feb 2, 1906 - Cosmos II is launched by AFA

Description:

The second rocket to be launched by the AFA uses a second-gen AFA engine, nicknamed the Hawk 1 to propel itself.

The rocket was launched in Florida. The Cosmos II crashed in the Gulf of Mexico after reaching 87 km.

This is the only surviving photo of the mission while it was in the sky, taken from Miami. The second picture was taken from a small fishing boat in the Gulf of Mexico.
