"Since it’s Monday and I’m pretty sure we could use a pick me up—here’s a story from when we went to dinner with George & Johnny, which lasted about 5(?) hours… The night started out swimmingly as Johnny was holding no bars in ordering the finest wine for George & the table as well as some prized Louis XIII, which was brought out on candles to stay warm. Wow! Who also knows the last time George had been treated to a dinner this nice, the last time had probably been for himself. The night’s sailing on, and of course both are telling some wild stories, particularly Johnny referencing Hunter S. Thompson more and more. At one point, George looks at him & goes, “Will you shut the f*ck up about him? I’m beginning to think you like him better than me.” …Oh, ok. Then George turns to Johnny and goes, “What’s with the f*cking hat?” Talking about his newsies cap. Johnny looks at George, as pleasant as ever, and says, “Here, you put it on,” and calmly places the hat on George’s head. Within seconds, George forgets that it’s there and the conversing continues. In the third picture, you can see Johnny admiringly looking at George, yet we were all holding in our laughter. We were all laughing together. Miss you, George. Thanks for a wonderful memory.
