Description:
"Doctor Heinrich Albrecht, Medical examiner, Westfield. May 19th, 1987 3:23 p.m."
"Intake report for Tiffany Elaine Marie Crisaldi. Caucasian female, age 28."
[ERROR]
"Case number 87-091-HA. This autopsy will be conducted at the request of the Adams Police Department."
"Initial external evaluation reveals a resinous black substance adhered to the face, neck, and upper thoracic region. Samples have been obtained. Additionally, the eyes are fully retracted. These observations are aside from any traditional indicators of struggle or violence as a cause of death. Rigor and livor mortis aligned with the estimated time of death. Of particular note, and the reason for this specialized report, is an unusual finding on the abdomen, specifically below the sternum. A symbol of some sort has been carved into the flesh. Equally concerning is the absence of hemorrhaging in the surrounding tissues. Due in part to this, I have been able to ascertain that this symbol was carved into the skin... postmortem. In regards to timing, based on my analysis, I would say the cuts were likely made several hours after death. Photographs and casts have been made for further analysis. I'll be consulting with forensic anthropologists and symbology experts to better understand the nature and potential significance of the symbol. In summary, while the exact cause of death is yet to be determined, it is the carving that requires the initiation of an immediate and in-depth investigation. This aspect of the case should be treated with utmost priority due to its unusual and unnerving nature."
