Description:

1626年，西班牙人進佔淡水及基隆，當時，天主教宣教士除對西班牙官兵實施例行的宗教事務外，也致力向基隆附近的住民，包含原住民、漢人與日本人，傳佈福音、設立教堂。西班牙在台 16年間，北臺灣約有4000人受洗，但1642年為南部荷蘭人所逼退。
