mar 12, 1947 - Truman announces his policy of containment, known as the Truman Doctrine.

Description:

After WWII, European and Asian countries were fighting with communists—especially Turkey and Greece. At this time, the United States was the only one able to provide aid. Truman requested money from congress, which was provided, and they sent 400 million dollars in aid to Greece and Turkey. Truman's will to help countries hurt by the communists will be known as the Truman Doctrine.
