sep 2, 1221 - Surrender of Damietta

Description:

The Crusaders gave up Damietta to the Muslims on September 2nd, 1221. Both sides held their hostages and prisoners until the Crusaders were out of the city unscathed. Once all prisoners and hostages were returned to their people, the Crusader ships sailed away from Damietta and the sultan rode in, thus ending the Fifth Crusade.
