Early in the morning on October 7, the latest Pogrom was launched against Israel, only this time on its own territory.

While there was an active Ceasefire between Hamas, the Political and military rulers within Gaza, and Israel since the last major conflict, Hamas and other terrorist organizations from within Gaza, aided and abetted by many of the civilian population of Gaza, invaded Israel.

Some 3 months after this massacre, on December 28, 2023, South Africa instituted proceedings against Israel before the International Court of Justice (ICJ - the UN's court) accusing Israel of genocide in its response to the slaughter of Jews by launching a ground offensive, supported by air and sea, against Hamas within Gaza. The aim was to eliminate Hamas and any other terror organization from existing in any political or militaristic form within Gaza to provide security to the southern territory of Israel.

After a day of 'evidence' provided by South Africa in which no evidence was forthcoming to support the charges of genocide as described in the Genocide Convention, Israel provided a response. Some of the introductory remarks of Israel's Tal Becker are reproduced below.

"On Saturday, October 7th, a Jewish religious holiday, thousands of Hamas and other militants breached Israels sovereign territory by sea, land and air, invading over 20 Israeli communities, bases and the site of a music festival.
What proceeded, under the cover of thousands of rockets fired indiscriminately into Israel was the wholesale massacre, mutilation, rape and abduction of as many citizens as the terrorists could find before Israels forces repelled them.
Openly displaying elation, they tortured children in front of their parents, parents in front of their children, burned people, including infants, alive and systematically raped and mutilated scores of men, women and children.
All told, some 1200 people were butchered that day, more than 5500 maimed and some 240 hostages abducted, including infants, entire families, persons with disabilities and holocaust survivors.
Some (of these) have since been executed, many of whom have been tortured, sexually abused and starved in captivity.
We know of the brutality of October 7, not only from the harrowing testimony of the survivors, the unmistakable proof of the carnage and sadism left behind and the forensic evidence taken at the scene; we know it because the assailants proudly filmed and broadcast their barbarism...
The largest. calculated, mass murder of Jews in a single day since the holocaust."

The above facts (although deliberately summarized) are not disputed by anyone considering the evidence and as of writing, I do not know of any country which continues to deny it happened. Many countries have, however, disputed the extent and gravity of the offences and millions of people worldwide have taken to the streets in support of Hamas (or against Israel) weeks before Israel launched a ground invasion in response. Numerous countries and millions of people worldwide express the opinion that 'Israel deserved what it got'.
