Description:
Robert Aske, some nobles, northern rebels and 30000 common people wanted the return of Catholicism and monasteries, as well as lower taxes. They took control of York, Hull and Pontefract and were ready to talk to the King's advisers. However, Henry VIII responded violently, and 200 rebels were executed for treason.
