Why did krushev fear capitalist west berlin ?

-West Germany had joined nato in 1955
-West germany had joined the ECSC in 1951
-West germany was economically strong
-Feared the loss of a generation of talented and highly skilled ppl —> bc of refugee crisis
-An area of capitalist prosperity within the communist territory
-Kruschev believed west germany would be a base of espionnage
