jan 1, 1528 - Pizarro returns to Spain
Description:
in 1528, Pizarro returned to Spain to petition the Spanish court to fund his conquest of Peru. He caught their interest with tales about the inhabitants of the land—the Incas. He had already seen that Spanish weaponry was far superior to anything he might encounter. He also relayed stories that the Peruvian land was fertile and full of riches. For those reasons alone, he believed the exploration would benefit the Spanish rulers greatly. He was given not only their support for this expedition, but also a land grant, a title, and other honors.
