may 25, 1755 - Fort Duquesne - 1755

Description:

This French fort had an ideal location near the Ohio River fork. British leaders, George Washington and Edward Braddock led troops over 100 miles to the Fort Duquesne. On the way, they were stopped by a smaller French unit who used Indian fighting techniques of surrounding the British, who fought in straight lines. Braddock was fatally wounded and the British lost.
