Description:

The purpose of the Marshall Plan was to prevent another outbreak of war in the way that Germany had been forced to pay reparations for WWI and had not been able to sustain itself and fell prey to the lunacy of HItler; effectively helped Europe get back on its feet after the end of WWII; guaranteed US participation in European affairs for several years to come; divided global affairs in two(split vetween US and Russians, who each had their own assistance plans)
