Description:

Napoleonic Civil Code issued; the French laws that Napoleon's empire enforced upon their own citizens and those that they conquered; created a uniform system that spread throughout Europe, replacing the patchwork of feudal laws that dominated Europe for generations; did not allow for class-based privileges; state could not enforce religion; government should not be created by the most powerful politician, but it should be filled with the people who were actually qualified for the jobs
