jun 17, 1775 - The Battle of Bunker Hill

Description:

British Commander-in-Chief General Sir Thomas Gage had more reinforcements and was ready to implement a new strategy into his line of play. The British had planned to launch an attack on the Americans, coming North and South of Boston. Plans of this attack were leaked, and a militia of 1,000 civilian soldiers gathered to stand their ground at the hill, and defend Charlestown. A part of that militia were several African American slaves, forced to fight. The American patriots were defeated at the Battle of Bunker Hill. It was a sad loss for the Americans.
