dec 25, 1776 - The Battle of Trenton
Description:
The Battle of Trenton took place the day after Christmas, when the British had their guards down the most. Washington and the colonial army crossed the Delaware river to over take the British in a surprise attack. It took over 11 hours to cross. Once over, the Americans had attacked the British, who had been celebrating for Christmas (and were most likely intoxicated from fermented beverages). They had reached the gates and fired at the British army, defeating them and taking the town.
