nov 5, 1969 - Keef Hartley Band
Description:
The Toby Jug, Tolworth, London
It was always fireworks at a Keef Hartley gig, but as rockets and Roman candles filled the skies outside to celebrate Guy Fawkes Night, another loose-knit collection of musicians was filling the Toby's hall with sound. The former John Mayall drummer loved taking a gentle pop at his old employer, regaling punters with lines like: "If you haven't had the sack from John Mayall, you can't join the Musicians' Union" and "We're all John Mayall cast-offs".
