While this asset is a card in the Rare Pepe Directory, it also holds a historical start and perspective of using a Counterparty Token to represent saving an internet link or article.

VICEPEPE, minted by Scrilla, included an image that was pointing to a very real VICE magazine article with the intention to save a piece of the record of this article existing on the internet.

The fear was that this article might be removed from the internet at a future date and to cryptographically stamp it's existense.

This theory of minting data of websites, articles and even social media pages 'to back them up' would be experimented with later in a project using Ethereum called Marble Cards. A project in which any user could attach specific websites of the their choosing to a cryptographic token.
