The book became a bestseller, being second under the bible, and led to a huge impact in Northern views upon slavery. It greatly supported black activist, and even affected Lincolns beliefs upon slavery. The book took place on a plantation in Kentucky after Stowe visited the horrors of slavery. It was published March 10, 1852. It was a significant factor in the separation of ideology, between the north and south, of slavery.
