Description:

Daughter of Henry I of England and granddaughter of William the Conqueror, Maude, better known as Matilda, was married to Henry V of the Holy Roman Empire at a young age and widowed a few years later.

She would later marry the younger Geoffrey "Plantagenet" of Anjou otherwise known as "The Handsome". She would support her father throughout his reign, and become his heir after the untimely death of her brother. When her nephew took the throne instead, she would devote all her energy and resources into fighting him and taking what was rightfully hers, fighting for years in pursuit of her claims.

Ultimately this would lead to her son becoming King, after the death of the usurping Stephen, and the beginning of the Plantagenet dynasty.
