Danton was executed by the guillotine. He was a well-known figure of the French Revolution. Instead of going into priesthood he chose law and became a lawyer. He voluntarily served in the National Guard and formed the Cordeliers Club, which was the most radical of all the political clubs at that time.Added to timeline:
