jan 1, 1648 - Introduction to tea in Indonesia
Description:
The Dutch East India Company established trading routes and a trading post in Java, Indonesia.
Other trading companies would try and make direct trade with China and Japan. However, the Dutch established trade via the intra-Asian trade. In this case it meant that along with the spices that the Dutch were trading with Indonesia, they would incoperate tea as well. This made it cost efficient in many ways.
