Description:

During the trial for IS-7, an earthquake trapped three people in an elevator for approximately 5 hours: Gregory Edgeworth, Miles Edgeworth, and Yanni Yogi. When authorities were able to rescue them, they discovered that Gregory was fatally shot in the heart and the other two victims were unconscious.

After a lengthy investigation, LAPD was desperate for any leads and resorted to a secret channeling of Gregory's spirit which determined that Yogi was the assailant. Information of the channeling was leaked by Redd White, however, which disgraced the LAPD and discredited spirit channeling. The channeler, Misty Fey, shortly went missing after.

Yogi's attorney Robert Hammond managed to win a Not Guilty verdict with an insanity plea. Despite the victory, Yogi's life was ruined as accusations followed him everywhere and he was subjected to faking insanity. As a result of this, his fiancé Polly Jenkins committed suicide.

In the aftermath of the incident, Manfred von Karma took his first and last vacation for some time and raised Miles to be a prosecutor.
