Description:
up until this point in order to load a firearm you hard to put the projectile in the front of the gun and push it to the back of the barrel. Breech opened the gun at the trigger point so that the projectile could be loaded directly at the back. this was invented in 1689 but was not used often until 1861 almost two hundred years later.Added to timeline:
