Description:
The matchlock and wheellock guns which came before the flintlock both suffered from having to manually move the lid on and off of the pan of gunpowder. The flintlock automated this process by making the trigger pull open the lid and strike the gunpowder at the same time. This increased efficiency.Added to timeline:
