FROM THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER:

Johnny Depp’s ‘Richard Says Goodbye’ to World Premiere at Zurich Film Festival

Wayne Roberts' comedic drama will premiere in Zurich 2018, which also added 'Cold War,' 'Whitney' and 'Never Look Away' to its gala lineup.

BY SCOTT ROXBOROUGH

Richard Says Goodbye, a comedic drama starring Johnny Depp from director Wayne Roberts, will have its world premiere at the 2018 Zurich International Film Festival.

Depp plays a world-weary college professor who is given a terminal diagnosis and decides to spend his final days by binging through every vice he can imagine.

Saban Films and DirectTV recently snapped up North American rights to the film, which co-stars Zoey Deutch and Rosemarie DeWitt, for a reported $3 million.

The high-profile title is a big get for Zurich, which last year featured the world premiere of Rob Reiner’s true-life drama Shock and Awe. Depp and Roberts will attend Zurich for the film’s gala premiere.

Zurich also added several festival titles to its 2018 gala lineup, including Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck’s Never Look Away, Kevin Macdonald’s Whitney Houston documentary Whitney, and Pawel Pawlikowski’s Cold War — winner of the best director honor in Cannes.

Keira Knightley-starrer Colette and Annabel Jankel’s Tell It To The Bees will also screen in Zurich. Two German titles, Marcus Rosenmuller’s Trautmann and Der Vorname from filmmaker Sonke Wortmann, will have their world premieres at Zurich 2018.
