Ever-changing human chameleon Johnny Depp is tangled up in a hairy situation with his new ‘do … or lack thereof.

Hollywood Vampires, Depp’s band with Alice Cooper and Joe Perry, posted some pictures from a rehearsal session on Thursday and the 50-year-old is sporting an interesting shave and braid.

As for the inspiration behind Depp’s hairstyle, your guess is as good as ours. Maybe he was going for an inventive “Lone Ranger” meets “Cry Baby” look. Maybe his hairstylist simply wasn’t listening when Johnny said, “just take a little off the sides.”

Whatever the inspiration, his hairstyle is definitely getting him ready for his summer of music as the Hollywood Vampires kick off their tour May 17 in New York.
