Description:

At this date, a memorial plaque was unveiled at Pukeahu National War Memorial Park by the Prime Minister and Minister for Arts, Culture and Heritage Rt Hon Jacinda Ardern.
The idea of this was to remember those who lost their lives and acknowledges the health professionals and large numbers of volunteers who risked their lives to care for the sick. It also recognises how the tragedy has helped to shape modern approaches to infectious disease management and surveillance.
