Description:

During the late 1987 a Palestinian Sunni militant group was formed dedicated to finish what the PLO could not however based on Islamic and religious views rather than socialist and patriotic reasons. It began within the Gaza strip occupied by the Israeli government

It has a social service wing dedicated to the people of Gaza, Dawah, and a military wing called Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades

It was founded at the time by Shiekh Ahmad Yasin

The organisation came about close to when the PLO rebranded as the Sultah and began to pursue a political change by Yasser Arafat.
