The evening began quite strangely and ended up very weird indeed. The band arrived at the club having apparently ingested considerable amounts of hallucinogenic substances, one member being convinced he was a fly! Things had not improved by the time of their scheduled performance and they took to the stage ‘completely out of it’. Very little was forthcoming except, I think, a mic stand launched into the audience. A girl was hit but fortunately not badly injured. A halt was brought to the proceedings, the band placed into the van whilst the road crew packed the equipment and rather sheepishly asked for just enough money for petrol to get them back to London. A disastrous night for everyone, but their newly released 2nd album was excellent.
