Johnny Depp defended by director Brad Furman after claims ‘toxic actor asked crew member to punch him’

Johnny Depp has been defended by director Brad Furman after allegations emerged that the actor had caused a ‘toxic’ environment on set and asked a crew member to punch him.
‘Johnny Depp is a consummate professional, great collaborator and a supporter of other artists,’ Furman said in a statement.
‘He always treats the crew and people around him with the utmost respect. Movies can be stressful, and nonevents often become exaggerated. We all love stories — there isn’t one here.’
Claims were made on Sunday that Depp had taken over as director during a scene that involved two of his friends, and that he insisted the cameras keep rolling despite the production’s location permit ending.
When a location manager told Furman that scene had to wrap, a source on set claimed that Brad interjected: ‘Tell that to Johnny Depp!’
But when the manager told Depp it was claimed that the actor approached the staffer and the source claimed ‘he was 6 inches away, yelling, “Who are you? You have no right!”‘
Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for Depp for comment.
