mar 1, 1896 - Henri Becquerel
Description:
Hearing about Wilhelm Rӧntgen’s discovery of x-rays, Becquerel (1852-1908) hypothesized that uranium would absorb sunlight and reemit it as x-rays. The uranium did in fact reemit radiation, similar to x-rays. Soon thereafter that, he discovered that even if uranium had no contact with sunlight, the uranium would still emit a level of radiation. Thus he discovered radiation in 1896.
