jan 1, 1794 - Joseph Louis Proust
Description:
Proust (1754-1826) proved that a chemical compound has an invariant quantity of elements, a fixed ratio. Especially that the source or method of preparation does not matter to the quantity of elements in a chemical compound. In 1794, he made a fundamental law about this, called Proust’s Law, which states that a given chemical compound always contains its component elements in fixed ratio and does not depend on its source and method of preparation
