The British wanted to punish Massachusetts for the Boston Tea Party so they decided to implement the Intolerable Acts.
The 4 Intolerable Acts were
1. Port Act: closed Boston Harbor until all the Tea was payed for
2. Massachusetts Governing Act: Weakened the Massachusetts government
3. Administration of Justice Act: Royal officials tried in Great Britain instead of the US
4. Reinstated the Quartering Act
