Description:
The first direct tax levied on the colonists by parliament.Colonists must buy stamps to put on all papers to keep them "legal" or "official".
This was meant to pay off debts, however the colonists disliked it as they did not have any representation in parliament; considered unjust
Parliament ended up repealing the act.
