jan 1, 1901 - (1901) Gyrocompass gets invented
Description:
The gyrocompass is an adaptation from the original compass that does not use magnetism. Instead, the compass uses a spinning gyroscope to follow earth's axis of rotation to point to true north. This type of compass is used commonly on ships and aircrafts due to the fact that once the compass starts spinning, any sort of motion will not disturb its reading.
