Description:
- Congress had protesting views because of the constitutionality of the Stamp (+ Sugar) Act(s).
- This act was intended to cover the cost of maintaining British troops within America.
- This required a tax stamp on all print items such as: diplomas, legal documents, land titles, etc. This act sparked an imperial crisis and also tension with the colonists because of little representation felt.
- Ben Franklin proposed a different solution to Parliament as opposed to the Stamp Act. Politicians and leaders rejected Ben's proposals due to them being too radical.
