Description:

While the British were preparing to fight with the French, George Washington was expected to be assigned as colonel in the militia. Unexpectedly, the governor of Virginia gave him the rank of a captain, which Washington wouldn't accept. However, because of his patriotism, he accepted to battle as a colonel, but with the rank of captain and a lower pay.
