sep 13, 1766 - The position of Patriarch of the Serbs, established on April 9, 1346 as the authority over the Serbian Orthodox Church, is abolished by order of Sultan Mustafa III of the Ottoman Empire

The patriarchate is not re-established until 1920 following the creation of Yugoslavia at the end of World War One.
